Navigating an equestrian world crowded with trends and novelties, Tech n Tack’s founders stopped to question the hype surrounding the shortcuts and holy grails that turn out to be nothing more than shortcomings and snake oil. They noticed that convenience had displaced knowledge, skill, and understanding; and that each new solution built upon the compromises of its predecessor. Over time, horsemanship and equine care had drifted further and further from the horse itself. Tech n Tack returned the focus there—questioning assumptions, preserving what works, and applying modern, well-founded advances. Sometimes, progress begins by going back and refining the fundamentals.
About Tech n Tack
Tech n Tack’s goods and services grew out of problems encountered, questions asked, and lessons accumulated over decades with horses. Barding™, Equiceptive PEMF, Avec Justesse℠, and Fronde et Fonce℠ originated from very different moments, but all followed the same path. One began with skin care, one with horsemanship, one from defiance, and one with technology. But all looked to the horse for the answer.

After year of trying to help horses with skin problems, Karine stopped searching for the next best thing and returned to the problem itself. Drawing on decades with horses, advanced biological degrees, and years of R&D, the answer eventually became horse armor.

It began with skepticism, chronic pain, and an injured horse.
Karine already knew people were using PEMF with horses—and largely dismissed it as another fad. Then three weeks of intense sciatica, an injured horse, and an unexpected conversation changed the trajectory. What began as something she tried for herself eventually became another way of listening to the horse.

The horsemanship came first. The name came much later.
For years, Karine had been teaching riders to notice the small breakdowns in balance, time, communication, and feel that others often overlooked. Only later did research into her French equestrian roots reveal a remarkedly ordinary word that had been describing that quality all along: justesse.

In show-jumping, Karine treated the customary route as a starting point. She studied the course for opportunities others could not see. Sometimes the rails rattled, most of the time Karine stood on the podium.
